Communities to Benefit from New Round of Stronger Communities

  • Applications for Round 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme are now open

  • The program will fund local projects to build social and community connections

  • The Coalition Government has committed up to $22.5 million under Round 4 of the program

Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey encourages community groups to apply for funding through Round 4 of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities program.

“Applications are now open for Round 4 of the Stronger Communities Programme,” Mr Ramsey said.

“In the first three rounds of this program almost 60 organisations across Grey received funding totalling $450,000 for projects such as the Beltana Historic Hall, the Minnipa pool, the Iron Knob cemetery and the Weaners Flat Hall renovation in Yorketown.

“These are the sorts of vital projects that bring our communities together, strengthen our social connections, build community participation and create vibrant and viable communities into the future.

“The program will fund small capital projects, which can range from upgrading the local community hall or sporting facility, building new bike paths, or providing essential equipment for the local SES.”

Each electorate will receive $150,000 to allocate towards successful projects, with a maximum of 20 projects to be funded per electorate.

Mr Ramsey said the additional investment for a fourth round of SCP would ensure that local decision making continues to play a decisive role in funding community building projects.

“Grants will be available between $2,500 and $20,000 for successful applications and I invite organisations within the community to put forward their attractive, high-quality, projects for assessment.”

This round of Stronger Communities grants open on August 6th and expressions of interest must be submitted to Mr Ramsey’s office by Friday September 14th.
