Two key infrastructure projects in the Grey electorate have taken a major step forward today as the Morrison and Marshall Governments release an Expression of Interest (EOI) and tenders for road projects at Port Augusta and Port Wakefield.
Totalling $290 million, the Joy Baluch AM Bridge Duplication Project at Port Augusta and the Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication Project are important regional projects for South Australia.
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said both long-discussed projects held significant economic importance to the state and it was an exciting time to see them coming into fruition.
“This is the start of the tender process and the sooner a contractor is selected, the sooner we can deliver these projects,” Mr Ramsey said.
“I’m very keen to keep these projects move along and turn both of these difficult bottlenecks into much safer roads to travel.”
Major construction works on both projects are expected to begin in 2020, with completion expected in 2022.
